Sam Michelin shut down Elk Rapids, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Kalkaska to a 12-0 victory on Monday
The Blazers secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the third inning. Lauren DeVol, Kayla Cavanaugh, and Ayla Gustafson each drove in runs during the inning.
The Blazers opened up scoring in the first inning, when Loren Schwab grounded out, scoring one run.
Kalkaska tallied seven runs in the third inning. DeVol, Cavanaugh, and Gustafson each had RBIs in the frame.
Michelin earned the win. She surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out five and walking one.
Cavanaugh led with three hits in three at bats.
