Kalkaska Blazers JV stayed in it until the end, but Mancelona pulled away late in a 10-7 victory on Thursday. The game was tied at seven with Mancelona batting in the top of the fifth when Annie singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Despite the loss, Kalkaska Blazers JV did collect 11 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Mancelona had 13 hits on the way to victory.
Kalkaska Blazers JV captured the lead in the first inning. Emma Woodin drew a walk, scoring one run.
Baylee Reust toed the rubber for Kalkaska Blazers JV. She went six innings, allowing ten runs on 13 hits and striking out two.
