Ayla Gustafson was an RBI machine on Thursday, driving in seven on two hits to lead Kalkaska Blazers past Grayling 18-2 on Thursday. Gustafson drove in runs on a single in the second, a groundout in the third, and a grand slam in the fourth.
Blazers got on the board in the first inning. An error scored one run for the Blazers .
Kalkaska notched seven runs in the second inning. Alli DeVol, Kayla Cavanaugh, Loren Schwab, Angela Iott, Gustafson, and Jordyn Disbrow each drove in runs during the inning.
Schwab led the Kalkaska Blazers Varsity to victory in the circle. She went four innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out six and walking one.
Kalkaska smacked one home run on the day. Gustafson went deep in the fourth inning.
Kalkaska tallied 16 hits in the game. Disbrow, Cavanaugh, Iott, Schwab, Gustafson, and DeVol all collected multiple hits for Kalkaska. Disbrow went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits.
