Kalkaska Blazers weathered a push by Grayling in the fourth inning where the Blazers coughed up four runs, but still won 15-5 on Thursday.
Kalkaska got things moving in the first inning, when Loren Schwab drew a walk, scoring one run.
Kalkaska Blazers Varsity notched seven runs in the third inning. Angela Iott, Jaime Potter, Maddy Wilkinson, and Hannah Rhoades each had RBIs in the big inning.
Sam Michelin earned the win for Kalkaska. She surrendered four runs on three hits over five innings, striking out five.
Kalkaska hit two home runs on the day. Schwab had a long ball in the second inning. Iott had a dinger in the fifth inning.
Blazers totaled ten hits in the game. Iott and Lauren DeVol each managed multiple hits for Kalkaska Blazers Varsity. DeVol and Iott each collected two hits to lead Kalkaska Blazers Varsity.
